Hey friends I know it has been a little minute since my last post, so I wanted to check back in now that we’ve gotten a start to the new year. During my absence, I was fighting an unforgiving cold and dry cough for what seemed almost an entire month. So having even enough energy to get back to work was a bit of a challenge, but I’m excited for what’s to come in 2025! Additionally, I’m excited to share that apparel and other merchandise will be added to the Tab Productions brand this year as well! Stay tuned via my IG story for sneak peaks on merch drops and more music discoveries on the curated playlists.
This is going to be one of my shorter blogs because I would it to focus in on a few resources and information to aid individuals who have been effected by the recent fires that occurred in the LA area. During this devastating time I learned a lot of black families were located in Pasadena and Altadena were the fires completely wiped out their homes. With the Eaton and Palisades fires still under 50% containment I want to use this platform to share places that are accepting volunteers, donations, and providing other services to those in need. I’m going to list a few I’ve discovered myself below; as well as links to their direct website/resource page.
The Collidescope Foundation – Accepting any volunteer help, donations, and provides daily updates regarding the fires and other aid resources.
LA Care Health – Their IG story is listing multiple local and global organizations participating in resource drives and events to assist.
Mutual Aid LA Network – Has a live google sheet with free resources that is updating in real time
LA Dream Center – located at 2301 Bellevue Ave Los Angeles, CA 90026 accepting donations and volunteers to assist with distribution of the items. Please check their IG on a list of what donations as currently needed, versus what they are already pretty stocked on.
I lastly wanted to list a music event this weekend that is also donating a percentage of their proceeds to families rebuilding homes in Altadena. Known Afro-Beat DJ Tomi Tribe and Earry Hall will be providing the sounds at the Continental Club DTLA this Sunday 1/19/25. This free event is hosted by Don Brotherhood and is a chance have some fun while also donating to those in need this MLK weekend. Please also check out the other fundraising drives listed in the club’s schedule via the hyper link.
I hope you do find the information provided helpful and encouraging as the city continues to push through this unfortunate crisis. As I stated in my mission, I want nothing more than to promote and uplift the city that extended my knowledge on community and how to strategically hustle to accomplish your goals. It takes a village, but the first step as an individual is to share what you can. I’m continuing to pray for the safety for all and extend that prayer to the rest of the year for us all. Pray for LA! ♥
